Mannog Zips Rio Grande (Mannog Moonshadow x Im Steel A Zip) has had a couple of outings recently as Mannog Rock DJ has a check ligament sprain so needs month or two off so decided to ride Rio - as you do not having sat on him for months! Picture shows Rio and me having completed a BHS riding lesson at Pennant Park Riding Centre, Whitford (an approved BHS riding and training centre and Pony Club Centre). On extreme left Carl (BHSAI and owner) and on extreme right his wife Storm. Carol on Tom - horse 21 yrs - Carol a bit older !!. Then Jan Roche (BHS Director Wales) and Margaret Linington-Payne (BHSI). Then me and Rio! We had a great fun lesson - it was hard work though as neither Carol nor I had had a lesson for many years! We did not know who was more tired - the horses or the riders but there was plenty of laughter. Earlier in the month Rio played a very small part in raising £140.00 at the MacMillan Ladies Coffee Morning and Ride . Six of us had a great fun lesson with costs going to MacMillan and then afterwards loads of scrummy cakes and coffee. The Pony Club kids then contributed the next day. Well done Carl and Storm at Pennant Park Riding Centre for supporting such a brilliant charity. Photo courtesy of Jo and Mal Hughes. Photographer. November 2014 issue of British Horse (official magazine of British Horse Society) features this article with picture under "Wales and Channel Islands" .. "sharing a lesson with Sally Chamberlain of Mannog Appaloosas on her home bred Mannog Zips Rio Grande". We are famous !! |
