I have just received a lovely letter from the APHC USA congratulating me on reaching " 10 years of dedicated service as an APHC Judge." In recognition of this accomplishment I will be receiving a gold pin . I will have the opportunity to be presented with my "years of service" award at the 2015 International Equine Judges Seminar in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wed 28th January . I have been thanked for my "on going service, promotion and dedication to the Appaloosa Horse Club". How lovely. Fortunately I have already booked to attend the five day CBC International Judges Seminar in 2015 as I have to attend every three years to maintain my APHC USA (European) Judges Card. 2015 Seminar topics cover :Western Pleasure, Longe Line, Hunter under saddle and over fences, Ranch Horse Pleasure, Showmanship, Hunt Seat Equitation, Horsemanship, Working Ranch Horse, Halter/conformation, Working Cow Horse, Roping. Also in attendance will be other USA Breed Societies : AMHA, POAC, PtHA, NSBA,IBHA,PHBA,APHA. Speakers are some of the top trainers and exhibitors in the USA. It is a very busy intensive five days but also very social meeting loads of interesting people. Afterwards I am spending a few days with fellow judge and friend Richard Rau who lives in Toledo. It has been a privilege to be an APHC judge and I have been fortunate to travel around Europe seeing some lovely horses and meeting friendly people. I have also had the honour of judging twice in South Africa and did two of my probationery judging assessments in the USA prior to getting my APHC judging card. Cannot believe ten years have gone by. Not only do I judge I also now give clinics on showing, stewarding etc both English and Western. |
