A bit breezy here and when doing the early evening check found that Storm Ali had taken down one of our lovely ash trees. Probably over 60 years old and leaving a huge void in the landscape now. So sad to see. Plus of course the amount of clearing we had to do the next morning (well over four days actually). The horses just adore ash so they all got a few nibbles and are like piranha fish - nothing is left but the wood. However the majority will have to go to be burnt - not easy when this storm was then followed by over four inches of rain and the field it fell into has to be cleared as it is the winter turn out for the mares. Still the wood burner will be kept happy for some years yet.
the end !!
