Specialising in quality halter horses that can perform.
Hello and welcome to the web site of the Mannog Appaloosa Stud - a small private stud based in North Wales run by Sally and Richard Chamberlain with easy access off the A55, 20 minutes from the Roman City of Chester.
The word 'Mannog' derives from the old Welsh word for 'Spotted' and we pride ourselves on providing great care for visiting mares and breeding and selling quality USA registered Appaloosas with proven world-class American bloodlines to excel in all disciplines. All our horses are kept in as natural an environment as possible with a mare/foal herd , young batchelor herd and then our two stallions in adjoining paddocks. They live out all year round - weather dependant in Winter! We do not breed every year believing in quality not quantity and when we use an outside stallion it is always a USA imported Appaloosa. Have a look at our gallery pictures.
Our own stallions 'Mannog Moonshadow' (15.00HH Leopard Spot) and 'Mannog Moonriver' (15.2HH Blanket Spot) are registered with the Appaloosa Horse Club of America and the APHC UK. Both have passed a full five stage vetting by an independent vet.
Their progeny have excellent conformation, movement and temperament and, in most cases, colour, and are already winning Championships in the show ring in hand and under saddle . Our news page is proof of this .

About Us:
Sally : Has been around horses from an early age including having a riding pony in East Africa to riding Basuto ponies in Maseru, Lesotho during school summer holidays. However it was only when married that I acquired my first horse , a Dales x TB "Sunglow Samson" . He may have been only 15hh but we had many victories and championships in Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country, Working Hunter, Ridden Hunter & Equitation Classes. He was even successful at Western Riding in his later years. Unfortunately arthritis and Cushings got the better of him at the age of 24 yrs.
We have had Appaloosas for over 20 years starting with a British bred Appaloosa "The BiliKiki" (Rivaz lines) changing to only breeding from proven American lines.
